Frequently asked questions
How many days are between two dates?
Pick both dates and read Total days. It counts the days from the start up to, but not including, the end date unless you tick Include the end date.
Should I include the end date?
Include it when both the first and last day count, as with a 5-day holiday from Monday to Friday. Leave it off for elapsed time, such as age.
Does it count public holidays?
No. Weekdays are Monday to Friday; subtract public holidays in your country yourself.
How are months counted?
Whole calendar months are counted first, then the remaining days. From 31 January to 28 February is 0 months and 28 days.
Can the end date be before the start date?
Yes. The result is shown with a minus sign.
Does it handle leap years?
Yes. 29 February is counted in leap years, so the number of days between two dates is always exact.
How many weeks are between two dates?
Read the Weeks box, shown as whole weeks plus any remaining days, for example 10 w 3 d for 73 days.
Why might my count differ by one day?
Most differences come from whether the end date is included. Tick or untick Include the end date to match the way you are counting.
