How to use the MDCAT Aggregate Calculator
- 1 Enter your MDCAT marks and the total, which is 180 in the current test.
- 2 Enter your FSc marks and total, for example 1100 or 1200 depending on your board.
- 3 Enter your matric marks and total.
- 4 Read your aggregate and compare it with last year's closing merit for your college.
Worked example
A student with MDCAT 145 out of 180, FSc 950 out of 1100 and matric 1000 out of 1100. First each part is turned into a percentage of its own total. Matric gives 90.91% × 10% = 9.0909%, FSc gives 86.36% × 40% = 34.5455% and MDCAT gives 80.56% × 50% = 40.2778%. The aggregate is 83.9141%. Each extra MDCAT mark would add about 0.28%, so ten more marks in the test would lift the aggregate by almost three percent.

Frequently asked questions
What is the MDCAT aggregate formula?
Aggregate = matric percentage × 10% + FSc percentage × 40% + MDCAT percentage × 50%. Each part is first turned into a percentage of its own total.
How many marks is MDCAT?
The current MDCAT has 180 multiple-choice questions for 180 marks with no negative marking. Older tests had 200 or 210 marks, so check your year's prospectus.
What if my FSc result is not out?
Admission authorities usually use FSc part 1 marks, or marks of both parts once available. Follow the instructions in the admission notice for your session.
Do private colleges use the same formula?
PMDC sets the merit policy for all public and private medical colleges, although each admitting university, such as UHS, KMU or DUHS, runs its own merit lists.
What about NUMS colleges?
Army Medical College and other NUMS colleges use their own admission test and policy. Check NUMS rules separately.
What is a safe aggregate for a government college?
Closing merits for top public medical colleges in Punjab have often been above 90%, while private colleges close lower. Merits change every year with the test difficulty.
Are hafiz-e-Quran marks added?
Some universities have given extra marks to hafiz candidates in the past. Check your admission prospectus, as the policy can change.
Can I improve my aggregate after FSc?
Only the MDCAT part can change, by taking the test again next year. Matric and FSc marks are fixed, which is why the MDCAT carries half the weight.
Is the MDCAT held once a year?
Yes. PMDC holds one MDCAT a year, usually in August or September, and the result is valid for that admission session.
Results are estimates based on the official rates linked above. Confirm important figures with the issuing authority or a qualified adviser before you act on them.
